Bass 12.The Difference Between Powerful and Loud Comments; When preparing material for this double CD, we decided to split our compositions from each other to one side each, so we did “Disc Mats” and “Disc Morgan” instead of the usual side 1 and 2. My side is pretty much programmed, which I can enjoy, (even if I prefer playing). But this time some of my tracks got erased due to a hard disk failure. Fortunately I had made some stereo mixes of these tracks earlier. They were sequenced versions, but I liked them as they were, so we just went ahead and did some overdubs on top of these stereo mixes. Disc Mats was recorded more the regular way, and no programming on his side anyway. Most of the time, the programmed stuff I do gets a million times better when we play it together with the band later. It really improves a lot. But there is also music that I can enjoy more programmed. Like for instance, most of the stuff that Zappa did on his Synclavier I enjoyed more then the versions played by humans. G Spot Tornado and Amnerika as an example, sounded way better to me programmed then the versions played by Ensemble Modern. And… Kraftwerk is cool too! Back
